My first impulse was to draw back and wipe my face, to show the offender I should be glad if she would behave more quietly; but the next minute I thought how foolish it was to refuse the treasures God offered me so generously, and I refrained from betraying my annoyance. Their pride is much like ours, isn’t it? "The Road to Emmaus : Pilgrimage as a Way of Life" by Jim Forest, (p. 61), 2007. Life is a night spent in an uncomfortable inn. Desire to see God, be fearful of losing Him, and find joy in everything that can lead to Him. Like St. Therese, help us transcend the heartbreaking disappointments of life and embrace the holy opportunities that are Your grace everywhere. We have lost faith in ourselves as Your dwelling place and Your image – as the canvas where You are painting beauty. This year, let’s focus on each devotion month-by-month to…, Did you know that we are asked to pray the rosary every day during October? If every tiny flower wanted to be a rose, spring would lose its loveliness. As part of our ongoing effort to make Therese’s “Little Way” become more vibrant to those who follow her spirituality and become present to those generations who have yet to discover her path, the Carmelites and the Society of the Little Flower are launching a major expansion of the National Shrine of St. Therese and the Carmelite Spiritual Center. But life has a way of humbling us all, doesn’t it? We owe it to future generations to dream big. Known as “The Little Flower,” St. Therese of Lisieux is an icon of simplicity. Then as in the days of my childhood, I cried out: “My God, I choose all!” I don’t want to be a saint by halves. It describes in detail in struggles and dives deeper into her spiritual journey. A few years back, when the Sisters in Lisieux asked us to help with the renovation of their Carmel, we did everything we could to realize that dream. Below are several quotes and photos of this amazing saint! Before prayer, endeavour to realise Whose Presence you are approaching and to Whom you are about to speak, keeping in mind Whom you are addressing. As was said earlier in this post, Mother Teresa was much more than a woman of words. But although He placed so much love near me, He also sent much love into my little heart, making it warm and affectionate. It seems that St. Therese, because she likely achieved perfect union with God on earth, understood that love was a sort of spiritual inebriation that crossed time and space. A simple love story. “The Story of the Soul”, p.26, Cosimo, Inc. Therese of Lisieux (2016).
